Calling For New Brunswick’s Best in the Knowledge Industry
Fredericton, NB -- It is time to celebrate New Brunswick’s best in the Knowledge Industry with the call for nominations for the 10th annual KIRA Awards. Known as ‘the’ gala evening for New Brunswick’s Knowledge Industry, KIRA 2008 is expected to attract in excess of 450 knowledge industry professionals from around the province.
On Thursday May 1st at the Delta Fredericton, KIRA's 10th Anniversary Awards event will honour excellence in New Brunswick’s Knowledge Industry by recognizing companies and individuals for Technological Advancement/Innovation, Most Promising Start-up, Industry Person of the Year and more.
Call for nominations are now open until Friday, March 28, 2008. New Brunswick companies and individuals are encouraged to self nominate or have someone else nominate them or their company. Hosted by Enterprise Fredericton, KIRA is a province-wide event with seven awards in the following categories…

- Export - Service
- Technological Advancement/Innovation – Private Sector
- Technological Advancement/Innovation – Public Sector
- Employment Growth
- Most Promising Start-up
- Industry Person of the Year
“The KIRA Awards symbolize the unique spirit and the entrepreneurial character of New Brunswickers, “ said KIRA 2008 Co-Chair, Lori MacMullen. “It the one event where industry members, their partners, academia and government gather together to not only celebrate, but to network and foster new ideas.”
Now in its 10th year, receiving a KIRA Award remains coveted and it is recognition, which demonstrates excellence not only in New Brunswick, but abroad. KIRA recipients have proven that they are leaders in their fields and their work can be seen around the world.

It is particularly pleasing to know that New Brunswick solutions continue to be some of the best, if not the best, in the world,” said Heather-Anne MacLean KIRA 2008 Co-Chair. “We have a lot to be proud of and the night of the KIRA Awards, is night when we get to showcase our talents and really shine. It is a wonderful time for this industry.”
